Long Island on Willapa Bay


Willapa Hills Audubon is announcing a field trip to Long Island on Willapa Bay set for Saturday, May 27, 2017, from 10 am till 5 pm.  Meet at the south end of the highway 101 bridge over the Naselle River at the Parpala Road junction where there is a pull out, then explore and bird Teal Slough and the nature trail at the Willapa Bay National Wildlife Refuge before crossing to Long Island and hiking to the ancient cedar grove.  The trip will be led by Steve Puddicombe and Bob Pyle, and is open to the public.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it.if interested as space is limited and there may be further updates depending on weather conditions.  Participants should prepare for inclement weather, a 4 mile hike and bring a lunch.  Bring your own water craft for the crossing to Long Island if you can, otherwise several canoes will be available.
